ABOUT VIREO

VIREO School of Performing Arts Ltd. is a full service dance studio located in the heart of downtown Courtenay. VIREO is known for our uniquely positive environment, for our knowledgeable and invested instructors, and for the excellent quality dance education we provide. ​VIREO offers all styles of dance including RAD Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Progressing Ballet Technique, Progressing Contemporary Technique, Musical Theatre/Production, Acro/Tumbling, ISTD Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and more. We are proud to offer programs to dancers of all ages and abilities, from 3 years old to adult, as well as an award-winning competitive Company program.

Under the Artistic Direction of Haley Toal, VIREO is a unique studio well known for our dedication to creating an educational and positive environment for each student. We believe that dance should be joyful and each dancer should be of the utmost importance regardless of how many classes you take. Each family and student is special to us, and our instructors work hard to get to know each student's needs to help them thrive and succeed.

While always promoting nurturing instruction, we firmly believe in helping dancers develop valuable life skills such as: accountability, discipline, work ethic, inclusivity, initiative, and commitment. Because of this balance, we have seen tremendous growth in our students' technique, training, and performance quality in a short amount of time. But most importantly, we have watched young dancers develop the courage to dance on stage, and gain the confidence and belief in themselves to express who they are through dance and in life. We have had the pleasure and honour of watching our students become exceptional people who practice kindness, humility, and accountability in the studio and out.
