Company Program

VIREO’S Company program is for dancers who wish to enrich their dance experience through additional and intensive training, competition and convention opportunities, extra performance opportunities, guest choreographers, photo shoots, life-long friendship and supportive community, and so much more. This is an audition-only program, and dancers are placed with like-minded teammates who have similar goals. The Company program requires a much higher time and financial commitment from dancers and their families, and can help dancers reach the next level of their dance career. Many Company (formerly Stageteam) alumni have gone on to study and pursue dance, music, and theatre at a University level, and many have become dance teachers, choreographers, and professional actors and musicians, and professional dancers.

In order for Company dancers to be well rounded, dancers are required to take all Company classes. Dancers train in many styles of dance, including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Hip Hop/Commercial, and Lyrical/Contemporary. Dancers will have a weekly specialty class where they can hone their pick-up skills through combinations, refine technical skills and progressions, work with guest teachers on other specialty skills such as performance and acting, prepare for convention classes, audition preparations, and much more. Required classes include technique classes, specialty classes, and choreography classes. Training hours per week vary based on where a dancer is placed within our Company teams.

If a dancer is chosen for a solo, duet, trio, or small group, choreography and rehearsal takes place on Fridays and Sundays.
